The Protractor you hold in your hands is a precision device that enables you to adjust cartridges and tonearms with an effective length from 8,6 up to 17,7 inches for correct overhang and offest. The calculation of parameters were carefully carried out according Lofgren’s (frontside) and Baerwald’s (backside) equations aiming in reduction of the overall RMS distortion level caused by deviations from the perfect linear tracking position of your cartridge. Please read this manual carefully to have full benefit from this unique tool. In terms of perfect azimuth calibration we reffer to our innovative software ADJUST+ (www.adjust-plus.com). A little bit of theory The general geometrical correlation of a tracking device based on a fixed pivot point are well known since the fundamental publications of Baerwald and Lofgren back in the first half of the 20th century. The conclusion of both papers was that such a tracking device must have an angular offset with a defined overhang. The offset and the overhang vary with the effective length of the tonearm itself. While tracking the record the stylus matches tangential position in the groove in two points – the inner and outer Null points (linear tracking position).
	HIFI Tuning Fuses When I was a poor audiophile, I loved tiny tweaks. Without switching out components, I could improve my system's sound without spending too much money. Bypassing or replacing cheap capacitors, cleaning connections, applying Star typewriter-cleaning gum to vibrating headshells, and other tiny tweaks made memorable sonic improvements. I recently replaced the cheap fuses in my Musical Fidelity kWP preamplifier with fuses made by HiFi Tuning in Germany, sent to me by The Cable Company. These have silver filaments, ceramic bodies, and gold-over-silver terminations, and damn if they didn't seem to produce a subtle but noticeable improvement in smoothness and coherence. For less than $30 each (available in various sizes they're worth trying, if only for the diversionary entertainment.—Michael Fremer

	foundation research - LC Power Filter Cords Noise seriously limits an audio system's ability to present clear, clean musical flow. Basic audio system philosophy begins with the removal of noise. Many systems have yet to reach their full potential, given the extreme output of noise that is injected into otherwise fine equipment. The musical benefits are more than obvious when LC1 and LC2 line filters are used to remove power line noise. Noise is not only injected into the system by the power line, but by audio components themselves. The LC1 and LC2 are unlike other line conditioners, since they address bi-directional noise problems by providing AC isolation between components. The benefit of bi-directional power line filtration is a proven asset to any high-end audio system. The LC1 filter was designed to accomodate front end components like CD players, preamplifiers and home theatre processors.
